Delegated Staking
Why is $MOOLA Token Staking Needed?
The Moola Network relies on a robust and dependable group of node providers to deliver fast and reliable blockchain interactions, such as RPC requests, across the Berachain ecosystem. To ensure the quality and trustworthiness of these node providers, the system mandates a substantial deposit of $MOOLA tokens to back each provider. This includes a self-stake—a deposit of $MOOLA that each node provider contributes as a commitment to maintaining high performance and reliability.
Beyond this, $MOOLA token holders can actively participate by staking their tokens to support specific node providers within the Moola Network. By delegating $MOOLA to these providers, community members help identify which ones are reputable, efficient, and deserving of greater trust and visibility. In return, stakers share in the rewards generated by the node providers they back, earned through activities like serving blockchain requests or supporting Berachain’s PoL. Additionally, $MOOLA staking grants delegators voting power, enabling them to influence key decisions—such as which node providers are onboarded to handle network traffic in the near future—through the Moola DAO.
While the $MOOLA staking pool may eventually have a size cap, allocating slots to existing node providers, community members, and active ecosystem participants, the initial pool will remain uncapped. We expect this pool to grow over time, which may lead to a variable APY for the first version (V1) of $MOOLA staking as adoption scales.
Benefits of Staking $MOOLA
Experience a New Kind of Staking For the first time, you can stake $MOOLA to full nodes that power Berachain’s development layer (e.g., serving RPC requests and DeFi interactions) rather than just validator nodes focused on consensus. This unique approach ties staking directly to Web3 utility.
Earn $MOOLA for Enabling Web3 Growth Stakers support node providers in operating the Moola Network, ensuring they can deliver critical services to Web3 developers and applications—like dApps and liquidity pools—that rely on seamless blockchain access within Berachain.
Boost Web3 Integration and Adoption on Berachain By staking $MOOLA, you contribute to a network that provides developers with faster, more reliable connections to Berachain, enhancing the efficiency of decentralized applications and driving broader adoption of the ecosystem.
Own & Govern a Foundational Layer of Web3 $MOOLA stakers gain a voice in the Moola DAO, allowing them to shape the network’s future by voting on critical decisions, such as infrastructure upgrades or node provider policies.
What’s Next with $MOOLA Token Staking?
As Moola continues to roll out innovative infrastructure solutions powered by the Moola Network—such as advanced staking tools, cross-chain bridges, and DeFi integrations—we’ll increasingly depend on $MOOLA stakers (or “Moola Bankrs”) to secure and decentralize the system. As Web3 expands and Berachain grows, adding support for more protocols and use cases, Moola will keep pace with adoption trends. This evolution will create more opportunities for stakers to earn rewards, influence governance, and solidify $MOOLA’s role as a cornerstone of Berachain’s Proof of Liquidity ecosystem.
